Giant Marshmallow meets Small Ninga

10 years ago today I met my stepson for the first time. I was a toasted marshmallow and he was a ninja. I am so happy and proud to have him as a stepson and even though I don't see him as often as I'd like anymore I'm still happy to be a smom to such a wonderful and talented person. ♥ Love you Jd Greene.

Halloween and hurricanes

So thankful the storm wasn't bad up our way but my heart goes out to all those on the coast and NYC area who suffered some extreme damage, even lives.

And on a lighter note, since today is Halloween, I happen to have a small celebration photo. My nephew makes an adorable zebra!

oops! Not sure why but Blogger may not let me post photos today... if that's the case, check it out on my photo of the week or so page on my website to see it! http://www.outoftheordinary.biz/week.html

Stay safe everyone and Happy HOLLYween! haha ;)

"I don't" photos

Ladies! There is a new concept going around with all these "Divorce Expos" and, although I don't want to see this happen to couples, I'd like to be the first photographer to offer a new series of "I don't" sessions for those who are divorcing but need a pick-me-up session. Whether it be a session to feel like you can start over, fresh beginning, a new chapter or need some sexy back... something to bring back that confidence and feel independent again. A session about YOU and expresses who you are as an individual. Or even bring your kids or pet for some new family photos of your new life.

This can be a new spin off of the popular "trash the dress" concept... I'm thinking a pair of shoes that say "I ... DON'T"? Something like that? Maybe a handwritten sign held up with your old ring saying something like "oops" or "My Mr. Right was Mr. Wrong" -- I don't know, again, I don't want it to be hatred or vengeful but more of a new look on life and a new perspective.... a way to find humor in it all. A "look what you're missing out on" kind of feeling. It also depends on the situation and why. I can't go as far as boudoir shots because I don't have a studio so somewhere in between it all. Life can get so serious and they say divorce is like a death in the family. Let's change that theory and make it a little more about finding yourself.**

If you are recently divorced and would like to be my first "I don't" session please contact me. I will offer a huge discount and make it a fun test shoot for my portfolio! I welcome your ideas as well. Or if you completely hate the idea I'm open to that point of view as well.

**does not include new relationship/couple or engagement photos**

Love my work so much that it makes you angry?

Please, for the love of God, don't meet with me if you don't like my style to begin with. I don't need a meeting of critique and bashing the entire time. It's not that I can't take it, I've been there done that, but at this point in my life—I have better things to do. I expect to get questions and I'm not saying everyone who meets with me has to sign up. If you aren't sure that's one thing and understandable but if you think you can photograph your own wedding, please, feel free and don't waste my time. Really I'm past that phase in my career. I've had meetings where they either:
  • only like one or two of my photos on my entire website
  • only like the color accents
  • don't believe I did the photography on my website
  • don't want to pay me for my work
  • want a photographer with a studio
  • really want another photographer but want my prices
  • expect me to do other photographers' style that isn't mine
  • have unrealistic expectations, ie supply a beach and an old fashioned car at all locations
  • only met me because they needed one more for their bridal check-off list that's in their binder that says they have to even though they already know they are not choosing me but that's what "they have to do" or their "parents made them" and hey you look like a good photographer to waste time with so humor me
  • or just want to stalk me
If you feel any of the above listed don't contact me. Lol, true stories.

Which one?

Which one do you like more... the color or sepia tone & why?

Kramer {Wedding} ~ Highlights

I know, these are out of order but the way the blog brings them is is tough to rearrange, please forgive.
I heart these red shoes as a color accent!
That silent still moment of reflection before the guests arrive for the ceremony
More shoes! Mostly because I loved the composition of this shot.
The kiss! And great to catch the clapping and expressions!
Color accent of the unity candle.
It started comical because there was no lighter until a guest gave one and it ended up nicely done.
I said "time for a serious one" and they delivered. This lavender at the Colonie Golf Club is amazing!
A father walking his daughter down the isle.
Ceremony
hand and hand they walk together in life from this point on
 Entire ceremony.
All the groomsmen but one and the groom before the ceremony.
 Getting ready.
 The dress.
The girls being silly.
First dance. Love the lighting here.
 Dance with father.
There is usually at least one at every wedding where it's that fully artistic BAM shot. Where it is perfect black and white material. This has that artsy effect that just pulls you in and keeps you thinking.
For better or for cake smashing...
I had fun with this one in photoshop.
Reminds me of how funny my job can be...
  Baby dancing.
 Moon
 Umbrella SUN Grass thank yous...
Thank you!
~Congrats to Mr. & Mrs. Kramer~

Senior Portraits ~ Suzie 2013

Suzie inspires to be a model. She is beautiful and I think she could be!

I allow one person to join the senior portrait session for a couple shots.
This could be a friend, boyfriend, girlfriend, sibling, parent... someone who means a lot to you.
This is such an American Honey feeling; one of my favorites!
