Next year we will most likely be making the switch from photo dvd discs
to custom flash drives (with our logo on them)! We thought about it 3
years ago but it was not cost effective and this has since changed to be
more affordable. This year we be using up our discs in stock but look
forward to the change next wedding season. ;)
There were a couple questions as to why we no longer decorate our discs and this is because labels on discs actually shorten the lifespan of the discs by 10 years causing warping and other problems. Also the flush disc printing is no longer available as they stopped making the printers that produced them along with the flush white discs. So now I like leaving it up to your to decorate them as you please. I recommend making back up standard plain copies for yourself just in case and then label the copies as you wish. Just remember that if you label the original discs from me I cannot guarantee it won't change the lifespan. As a business we try to hold onto all back-up copies but we do not guarantee them after a few years. This is also true for this ever changing and upgrading of technology. Who's to say discs will be a thing of the past? So print, back up, upload to online photo albums or libraries and safe deposit the copies.

Photographer in action update
I know many of you enjoyed the behind-the-scenes of photographers in action page and I did not update them for quite sometime, I think since 2009, and no longer have a direct link off my website for it. So tonight I finally got around to it and this is the only way to access the link (unless you have been stocking me and memorized the address in which that's just creepy). Some are out of order and I think I'm missing some in between but hey, at least there is some new ones. Enjoy! See more at: http://www.outoftheordinary.biz/photographer

Weddings coming soon
No need to fret. It's been a long winter but I promise weddings are coming soon!
My season this year begins in June and continues into October with my busiest scheduled time being the month of September. I am itching to start taking photos and am so excited for all my 2012 couples. I like that this year I've taken on less over all than my last years of doing wedding photography because I am able to focus on each couple so much more. I think they feel it and I feel it... in turn giving an overall better experience. Looking back 2008 was my biggest year for bookings taking on over 60 weddings booking an average of 3 weddings per weekend. This year I'm cutting that down by more than half of that number, only taking on one wedding per weekend with an exception of a couple weekends and even those created some heavy consideration.
My goal is to continue this trend and focus on the couples as they should be treated.
So excited for this year and in the meantime I have a family photo session coming up this weekend ~ stay tuned!
