Photographer in action update

I know many of you enjoyed the behind-the-scenes of photographers in action page and I did not update them for quite sometime, I think since 2009, and no longer have a direct link off my website for it. So tonight I finally got around to it and this is the only way to access the link (unless you have been stocking me and memorized the address in which that's just creepy). Some are out of order and I think I'm missing some in between but hey, at least there is some new ones. Enjoy! See more at: http://www.outoftheordinary.biz/photographer

Weddings coming soon

No need to fret. It's been a long winter but I promise weddings are coming soon!
My season this year begins in June and continues into October with my busiest scheduled time being the month of September. I am itching to start taking photos and am so excited for all my 2012 couples. I like that this year I've taken on less over all than my last years of doing wedding photography because I am able to focus on each couple so much more. I think they feel it and I feel it... in turn giving an overall better experience. Looking back 2008 was my biggest year for bookings taking on over 60 weddings booking an average of 3 weddings per weekend. This year I'm cutting that down by more than half of that number, only taking on one wedding per weekend with an exception of a couple weekends and even those created some heavy consideration.
My goal is to continue this trend and focus on the couples as they should be treated.

So excited for this year and in the meantime I have a family photo session coming up this weekend ~ stay tuned!

People and Planet Friendly Weddings

HAPPY EARTH DAY!

I'd be lying if I didn't say this is a play off our name GREENE in some way. :) We are working on possible discounts for people and planet friendly weddings... the greener you are; the more you'll get back! Not officially in effect yet but here is what we have so far.

It started small but developed much bigger. It would be a focus on human health aspects including chemical-free and making events safer for those that have special health needs related to the environment (asthma, other breathing disorders, allergies, weakened immune systems, as these are becoming more common at weddings). Although this would not focus so much on recycled items, it would as a whole and the end turn-out would also be healthy for the environment.

Some examples would be flame-less candles rather than scented candles, essential oils rather than perfumes, no chemical air fresheners, no pesticides or asking the reception hall to use safer cleaners such as Seventh Generation before hand rather than bleach... Just to name a few. It's one of those projects that got so big and we keep finding more and more ideas it's hard to collectively make a package to fit it all in.

It would be noted and noticed at your wedding and the discounts would be given after the wedding to prove that it was done.

Please contact us in the meantime if you are interested in a truly 'greene' wedding... then see the Greenest Weddings I've covered so far and the runner-ups:

A look back

I may be starting a little early or even a bit late depending on how ya look at it but right now just seems the right time. And as you all know Out of the Ordinary doesn't follow many rules.

April 25, 2003 I officially started Out of the Ordinary and that makes 9 years in business. Next year will be our 10 year celebration! So in honor I would like to take a moment and appreciate where I started and how it all began... and that my friends was about 12 years ago when I took these photos of Caleb. These photos never grow old to me and although he is a teenager now; I somehow captured something timeless. Thank you for all those who have given us this chance and all these years to share our creativity. <3
